Recreation.gov site said this campground was great for all size RVs. Don't believe it. We had a 37' fifth wheel and it was very difficult getting out of the campground. The campground is a pleasant 40 minute drive on a curved road from the 101. If you go through Greenfield, like we did (following GPS) you'll go across a one lane bridge which we could barely make the corner onto to. When we arrived we found that the campsite we reserved was double booked, but there was another one we could use that was easy to get into. Turns out we never could have backed into the site we had reserved (site # 1, advertised for a 50' unit). They gave us site #3. Most all the sites, including #3) are laid out backwards. The picnic table, fire ring and flat spot are on the wrong side of the unit. Our door opens to a wooden post. We will not come here again.

The campground was clean. The site and the campground was easy to get into and out of. It's next to a lot of OHV trails and you can ride in and out of the park. It was hot and the site only had 30 amp service. It was very noisy with a lot of rude campers the two days we stayed (walking through campsites, playing loud music very early in the morning). The staff was very friendly and there is the normal KOA stuff like a cooking area, a pool and ice cream at night. You have to drive to the lake and there is not much shade. We probably will not come here again.

This is a clean campground with a lot of space in the forest. Most sites area very far apart except some of the tent sites, which can be right next to each other. There is enough room to pull a large trailer but not a lot of room for maneuvering into the sites if you have a large trailer, as we do. There are campfire talks put on by the rangers mostly designed for kids. We stayed at a large double wide spot (#13). Some of the spots have electric hookups, but a lot don't. Ours didn't. For the price, it should have. If this spot had electricity it would have received a 9. We will stay here again.

This park is small and not all that nice for the area it is in. The spaces are not nearly the size that the web site states. Our site was supposed to be 45' and it was only about 20. We have a 37' 5th wheel and cold not fit into any of the spots. There is not much shade. We left without staying.

We camped during the week (Tues-Fri). The campground was only 30% full. We had a great time, just watching the ocean. It is a beautiful site but primitive and pretty rocky. We would definitely go again.

We stayed in the Handicapped spot, which was pretty far from any view of the ocean. Next time we will camp in a regular spot closer to the (far away) view. Spots 1-26 look good. Spot 81 looks very good, but it is in the no hookups area. The tent camping spots are the best and all are very spacious. The hook up spots are lined up next to each other but are roomy. We really liked this area. Just below the campground (It's a short drive) is a great beach.

The only thing good (which is really good) about this "campground" is its location. It is right next to the sand and the ocean is about 30 yards from the camp area. Otherwise, it wouldn't be good at all. No hookups, very restrictive generator time, narrow spots that are right next to each other, you are locked in between 8PM and 8AM. We will go there again only because of the location. We have a toy hauler and we get a beach site spot and put the ramp down. We get a great view of the ocean.

We stayed in the campground while attending a festival held at the campground pool/lake area. We stayed in "the oaks", which I thought was one of the best camping areas at campground (Chardonay mesa was the other). Most of the other areas are barren. We did have a fire ring, 50 amp service and a table at our site. It was cool and shady and huge. (#118) our 40' 5th wheel and truck would have fit without unhooking. We unhooked and there was room for our truck side by side , plus room for a couple cars. There is a lot of maintenance that needs to be done to the roads and some of the features (pool, lake, etc.) We have a Rhino (off road golf cart) we take with us and there was easy access to a lot of dirt fire roads/trails and to Vail Lake itself. We will come back.
